 Hi, my name is Alycia Baca, and I am a self taught artist here in New Mexico.  

Recently we experienced a house fire and I cannot tell you how awful it really is to go through something like this.  Get this, my father was a fire fighter and all of my life I would hear don't block entry ways, be careful, you only have about minutes to get out.   I am here to tell you that nothing that was ever said could truly express the real way it is. 

Can you imagine yourself in a very relaxed mood?  You walk around the corner and flames are shooting out of your kitchen.  Your mind is racing everyone is screaming and you know just get out.  After your outside you realize all of your neighbors are at work and you left your phone in the house.  Now running door to door screaming and all the while you know that all of your belonging and your home are burning. Even worse we were renting and had no insurance. In those few minutes within the house I had inhaled a lot of smoke and I hurt for four days afterward.  PLEASE PARENTS TEACH YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT FIRE AND THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF FIRES AND WHAT TO DO.  HAVE HOME FIRE DRILLS!  It happened so fast.  I have three children and I am thankful they are all safe and my dogs are safe.  We lost just about everything.

 Smoke damage is unreal.  It stains and smells and contaminates everything. 

The American Red Cross is wonderful.  Please support them, they do deserve it. 

The contractors are saying mid July for move in and The Salvaton Army is asking for an EVICTION NOTICE to help with July rent.  Saint Vincent De Paul same thing.  So if you decide to purchase any of my work, know you are also helping a family to rebuild there lives.  Thank you  Alycia Baca (always believe, I didn’t even know I could paint until 2007 I have never had any training at all.)
